My Collection, Swatched: Butter London No More Waity, Katie

Butter London No More Waity, Katie is a light purple jelly with small purple glitter.  The name of this polish refers to the lovely Kate Middleton (do you all love her style as much as I do?!) and her, at the time, engagement to Prince William.  Incidentally, this is the color I was wearing when I ended up going to the hospital to have my baby.  The baby couldn't wait either.  Now back to the nail polish.

This image is in indirect sunlight. you can see the patchy spots where the glitter did not coat very well. 

This image is outdoors without flash.  The bald spots are extremely obvious, I would recommend using a base color with this to prevent this look. 

The pictures show three coats of the polish with base and top coat.  This polish does become mostly opaque after three coats, but has a rough finish due to the glitter.  If you do not enjoy that, then one or two coats of a good top coat should fix that right up.

Recent Purchases: Sally Hansen Salon Effects

I recently visited my local Target and Walmart and found some great deals on the Sally Hansen Salon Effects line.  I have never tried out these products before, but I have seen other people post about them and they sound great.  I loved the new Spring  line that came out, and I wanted to try them out.  I found them on clearance and I decided now was the best time.  Once I actually use these, I will let you know how they work out and make a post to show you what they look like. 

 I picked these two up at Target.  I love the colors!  The butterfly ones have a shimmery finish to them. 

 I also picked up the matching nail files! 

 Later in the same week, I went to Wally world and found these on clearance.  There is a cheetah, leopard, and a lace pattern.  The animal prints are shimmery as well.  The cheetah  print (to the left) is actually ombre: some are red/orange some are green/blue. 

I also found this pedicure set, hounds tooth pattern.  I am not sure if I will actually use it for a pedicure or if I will just use these on my fingernails as well, I figure I can get a couple uses out of them.  The only problem being that the smallest pieces are actually VERY skinny, so I do not know which finger they will actually fit!

My Collection, Swatched: Julep Samantha

Julep Samantha is a neon hot pink that dries to a matte finish.  The color is beautiful and covers opaquely in two coats.  This is one of my favorite neon colors because it covers so well, and does not require a lot of work.  Also, it does not have any shimmer running through it like a lot of other brands do. 

 These images are showing up red on my screen, but this is a true hot pink.  This image is Samantha without a top coat so you can see the finish of the polish. 

 This is Samantha with topcoat and indoors with flash.  The color is great and so vibrant, perfect for summer!

My Collection, Swatched: Butter London Snog

Butter London Snog is a bright, hot pink creme with a glossy finish.  This is a great hot pink color with a berry tone to it.  It covers beautifully in two coats and has a glossy finish, even though I had to add a top coat.

My Collection, Swatched: Julep Zoe

Julep Zoe is a burnished copper/bronze color with a metallic finish.  The polish covers in two coats, but does show some brushstrokes, so I would recommend being careful with this color.  While I am not a big fan of metallic finishes, I do like the color of this one because it is unique and unlike anything else I own.

My Collection, Swatched: Julep Reese

Julep Reese is a creme Barbie pink color.  The formula on this was a bit thick and I had a little bubbling with application.  Other than that, it was a beautiful two coats for full coverage.  The color is nothing special, just another medium pink.

My Collection, Swatched: Butter London Rosie Lee

Butter London Rosie Lee is a small rose gold glitter in a clear base.  The glitter is very reflective, and can be applied sheer or built up for full opacity.  In the swatches, the index finger has one coat of the polish, the middle finger has two coats, and the ring finger has three coats.

This color is so pretty and feminine.  The glitter is quite dense, but must be built up.  Even with three coats, there are some patches visible.  I would recommend using thicker layers or adding a fourth coat for full coverage.  This also looks great as a layering polish.

My Collection, Swatched: Butter London Henley Regatta

Butter London Henley Regatta is a clear base with teal and green microglitter.  The glitter in this is sheer at first, but can be built up to full opacity.  The swatches show the difference in number of coats.  The index finger shows one coat, the middle finger two coats, and the ring finger three coats.  This does require a top coat for a smooth finish.

The glitter can either be applied lightly as a top coat over another polish, or packed on for full intensity.  As you can see, three coats does not cover completely, but you can try using thicker coats or adding another layer to cover the patchy spots.  Either way, this glitter is gorgeous and shimmers beautifully.  I have applied this over BL Bluey, and it looks great: adds a lot of depth and intensifies the shimmer.

My Collection, Swatched: Butter London Tea With the Queen

Butter London Tea With the Queen is a creamy nude color with a glossy finish.  This color leans more warm to me, but would look great on any skin tone.  The swatches show three coats of the color with base and top coat.

The formula on this was great, as with most of my other Butter London polishes.  The color itself is boring, but perfect for anyone that loves a good nude color (which I enjoy once in a while).

Butter London Toff is a purple/rose creme with a glossy finish.  The swatches show three coats of Toff with base and top coat (Orly Top to Bottom).

The formula on this one was great, but a bit on the thick side.  I had no issues with application. 


This color is difficult to place, it is one of those work-safe colors that I do not necessarily gravitate towards.  Overall, it is boring, but it looks nice, and would be perfect for an interview or more formal event. 

BTW, I looked up the word Toff (seeing as I had no clue what it meant) and it is British slang that is used to refer to anyone who is well-off or landed gentry.  I guess the name is appropriate, very prim and proper.

My Collection, Swatched: Butter London HRH

This is Butter London HRH, a gorgeous royal purple (hence the name) with a foil-like finish to it.  It is beautiful on the nails, swatched with three coats, but opaque in two.

The formula on this one was great as well, but I would recommend being extra careful with application as this does pool a bit around the edges.

My Collection, Swatched: Butter London All Hail the Queen

Butter London All Hail the Queen (or McQueen) is a taupe color with golden microshimmer running through it.  The microshimmer looks holographic under flash photography, but it does not show up that way in real life.  For the swatch I used three coats of All Hail the Queen plus base coat and top coat (Orly Top to Bottom). 

The formula on this one was great, very easy to work with.  The polish is opaque and the microshimmer is visible, although it shows up better in sunlight.

My Collection, Swatched: Butter London British Racing Green

Butter London British Racing Green is a deep emerald green with green microshimmer running throughout.  The swatches show three coats of the polish with base and top coat. 

This is BRG indoors with flash.  This image is true to color. 

This is BRG outdoors without flash. 

The formula on this polish is good, but a little thicker than other Butter London polishes I have tried.  The shimmer is barely visible on the nail in real life except when outdoors in sunlight.  The color is beautiful regardless, and has a glossy finish.

My Collection, Swatched: Butter London Bluey

Butter London Bluey is a shimmery teal color with green microshimmer visible throughout.  The swatches show three coats of the polish with base and top coat.

 This is Bluey indoors with flash.  This is showing up more blue than teal.  In real life it leans a lot more green due to the microshimmer.

The formula on this polish is amazing, and layers for full opacity. The microshimmer is visible on the nail in real life, with all the different colors reflecting separately.  I have worn this under Butter London Henley Regatta, and it added a gorgeous depth to the color.

Introduction

Let me tell you a little about myself.

I am a happily married mom of a 2 month old and a student working on my Master.  I also have a confession to make: I am obsessed with everything that has to do with nail polish.  I love to look at swatches, I love to hold the bottles, I love to paint my nails with new colors, and I love to stare at my collection and rearrange/reorganize everything on a regular basis. 

A few months back, I asked my husband to build me a wooden nail polish rack because I felt that it would be sturdier than the acrylic ones you find online on retailers websites.  He built it and then he told me that I should have plenty of room for my collection.  After I placed all the bottles from my collection at the time on the rack, I had filled up every bit of space.  I did not even have space for my base coats and top coats and mini bottles.  Now I am working my way to filling a second rack (!). 

The reason I started this blog is so that I can share my love of nail polish and beauty products with the rest of the community on here: with everyone else as obsessed as I am with reading other beauty/nail polish/nail art blogs.  I also wanted to be able to share swatches and information on the colors I own because I know how difficult it is to decide what to buy without seeing it on the nail first.  I love this stuff, and I hope you enjoy what I have to share! My Collection, Swatched: Butter London Yummy Mummy

BL Yummy Mummy is a soft cream/beige color with a silver frost running through.  It is a beautiful neutral color with a twist.  Pictures show a swatch of Yummy Mummy with base/top coat Top to Bottom by Orly and 3 coats of BLYM.  Two coats is enough for full opacity (I do not enjoy sheer polishes), but I applied a third coat for good measure.

I really enjoy the way this looks against my skin color as it is a true neutral that leans a little on the cooler side.

My Collection, Swatched: Butter London Saucy Jack

Butter London Saucy Jack is a creme deep, wine red color with a glossy finish.  The swatches show three coats of the polish with base and top coat. 

 This is Saucy Jack indoors with flash.  The color is showing up brighter than real life.  Also, it looks like there is visible nail line, but I promise that this does not show up in person.  The color is very opaque and covers completely with three coats.

The first time I swatched this color, I was completely disappointed with the formula.  It was streaky and patchy, and I gave up trying to make it look nice.  I recently decided to try it out again, and I fell in love.  I realized the first try was mostly due to poor application technique.  The formula is a bit thick, but if you wait for each coat to dry, it will build to full opacity.
